ANOTHER DAY TRIP, TO ORVIETO THIS TIME.

ANY OF YOU WHO ARE WINE DRINKERS PROBABLY RECOGNIZE THAT NAME.  THEIR WHITE WINES ARE INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED.  THIS IS ANOTHER HILL TOWN.  FROM THE RAILROAD STATION IT IS ONLY A FEW STEPS TO THE FUNICULAR WHICH TAKES YOU UP TO THE LEVEL OF THE OLD TOWN.

After an envigoriating climb to the top of the very tall Torre del Moro, this was the view.

Nearing the end of the sightseeing day, a pretty park provided a quiet spot to sample some of that local wine along with some almond biscotti (great dunked).
